Grand Master Logo – Meaning & Symbolism
This emblem was thoughtfully designed to reflect the principles, responsibilities, and vision of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey during my term as Grand Master.
The Sword is not an instrument of aggression, but of righteous judgment. It symbolizes justice and moral authority, reminding us that leadership must always be exercised with wisdom, fairness, and integrity.
The Scales represent balance and impartial judgment, calling every Mason to strive to act without prejudice and to weigh all matters carefully and fairly.
The Shield signifies protection and integrity, reflecting our duty to defend one another, uphold the principles of the Craft, and preserve the honor of our lodges.
The Square and Compasses with the letter “G” affirm that all our actions are grounded in faith, moral discipline, and accountability—not only to each other, but more importantly to the Great Architect of the Universe.
“Educate, Elevate, Empower” expresses the vision of this administration: to strengthen our membership through knowledge, leadership, and meaningful service.
Together, these symbols serve as a reminder to us ALL to act justly, lead wisely, and protect the enduring values of Freemasonry.
First Lady’s Pin
My pin features two elements: the hydrangea and the green ribbon.
Hydrangeas symbolize heartfelt emotion, gratitude, grace, and enduring connection—qualities that beautifully capture the bond I shared with my grandmother. Growing up, she was my guiding force, loving and caring deeply for her family and extended community. In pivotal moments of my life, I always turned to her. When she passed, it was a tremendous loss, but I began noticing hydrangeas—a flower she lovingly grew and cared for in her garden—appearing in every major moment of my life. It felt like her presence was still there, continuing to guide me.
A meaningful example: during Omar’s and my first trip together, hydrangeas surrounded the house where we stayed. It brought tears to my eyes and filled my heart with warmth as I felt my grandmother’s presence throughout our trip—perhaps her way of giving us her blessing.
The green ribbon represents my dedication to youth mental health—a cause deeply personal to me through my past work in mental health counseling. Together, these elements reflect my hope to bring grace and understanding to our year while supporting the Jed Foundation, my chosen charity.
The Jed Foundation empowers teens and young adults through life skills, social connection, and mental health support. Through my past work in mental health counseling, I’ve seen firsthand how critical these resources are for our youth. Jed’s comprehensive approach—working directly with schools and community-based organizations to build caring cultures, implement support systems, and provide essential tools to families and communities—aligns perfectly with the values we share as a Masonic family.
